Supporting aerodrome authorities, engineers and regulatory bodies in delivering safe, compliant and demonstrably competent Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL) operations.
About Us
Founded in 2006 via Airport Operators Association (AOA), the Airfield Lighting Association exists to develop, promote and support recognised competency and safety standards within AGL activities.
Our objectives include:
- Production and review of competency and safety standards for aerodrome authorities
- Promotion of demonstrable competency aligned to BS EN 61821:2011
- Development of formal recognition and registration processes
- Engagement with industry and regulatory bodies
- Identification of developments impacting AGL operations
In an increasingly regulated aviation environment, demonstrable competence and structured governance are fundamental to operational safety. The Airfield Lighting Association serves as a focal point for technical leadership, competency development and industry engagement within the AGL community.
